چکیده
Background: Hypothalamic hamartomas (HH) are a challenging cause of seizure in children, partly because the neural circuitry involved ictogenesis is incompletely understood. We review our institutions’ use magnetic resonance imaging-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MRgLITT) to treat hypothalamic hamartoma with resting-state fMRI performed immediately before and after ablation. Methods: Seed-based whole brain connectivity thalamic regions interest was pre- post- MRgLITT. Multivariable generalized linear models were used correlate data outcomes. Results: Eight patients underwent MRgLITT treatments for HH, mean follow up 29 months. Four (50%) free at 12 months two (25%) had significant improvement frequency. identified reduced thalamocortical involving anterior cingulate posterior parietal regions, consistent disconnection mammillothalamic tract interruption Papez circuit. Large-scale changes driven by children who subsequently became free. Conclusions: Disconnection undergoing HH appears be associated improved The ability assess network could enable operative adjustments made mid-procedure optimize outcome real time.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Guided Focused Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy for Intracranial Lesions: Single-Institution Series
BACKGROUND Surgical treatments for deep-seated intracranial lesions have been limited by morbidities associated with resection. Real-time magnetic resonance imaging-guided focused laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) offers a minimally invasive surgical treatment option for such lesions. OBJECTIVE To review treatments and results of patients treated with LITT for intracranial lesions at ...
متن کاملMagnetic Resonance-Guided Laser Induced Thermal Therapy for Glioblastoma Multiforme: A Review
Magnetic resonance-guided laser induced thermotherapy (MRgLITT) has become an increasingly relevant therapy for tumor ablation due to its minimally invasive approach and broad applicability across many tissue types. The current state of the art applies laser irradiation via cooled optical fiber applicators in order to generate ablative heat and necrosis in tumor tissue. Magnetic resonance tempe...

DNA Damages on Blood Cells After Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: Along with the increased use of cardiac imaging at clinics there is increased attention to the potential risks related to the methods used like magnetic resonance (MR) and it cannot be ruled out that MR can alter DNA structure. The aim of this review is to assess the impact of routine cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) scanning on DNA damages in human T lymphocytes....
